Camp Positions
Tent Leader
Tent Leader is on camp to reflect Jesus Christ in his/her words and actions so as to envelop kids in the love and protection found in him. This will be done through safe interaction with the kids, working as a team with the other Leaders and being a living witness of a life lived with Christ. Family Camp Leader
A Family Camp Leader is on camp to reflect Jesus Christ in his/her words and actions so as to envelop families in the love and protection found in him. This will be done through safe interaction with the kids, working as a team with the other Leaders and being a living witness of a life lived with Christ. Junior Leader
A Junior Leader is on camp to develop leadership skills and Christian witness through learning from Tent Leaders and experience. It is also within his/her responsibility to help where needed. Camp Cook
The Camp Cook is responsible for the nutritional health of all people on camp during the camp week. This includes the planning and preparation of all meal times. Kitchen Helper
The Kitchen Helper is responsible for reporting to and helping the Camp Cook in all that he/she is doing. Camp Driver
The Camp Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of campers and Leaders throughout the camp week. Summer Project Help
Join a group of young people and encourage them in songs, games, arts & crafts, sports and outings for one or more weeks of the summer. Three Month Summer Internship
You, like many others, may find that one week of DCM camp is just enough time to understand how to do camps for inner-city young people and families! If so, consider joining us for a three month summer ministry training time. When: June - August Who is this programme for?
- Those who want to try a summer of inner-city ministry
- University/College Placement Students in Youth/Community/Intercultural programmes
Requirements:
- 18-25 years old
- Agree to abide by our Basis of Faith
- Positive reference from a Pastor or Elder
What will I be doing?
- 2 weeks of camp preparations and training
- Camp clean set-up and take down
- 4 weeks of young peoples camps and 1 week of family camp.
What will I be learning?
- Team motivation
- Planning and facilitating activities
- Working with young people (ages 7-18)
- Camp coordination (we won't be asking you to coordinate though)
- Leading a group: singing, memory verse, group games.
- Leading a small group: tent team times
- Intercultural skills (for those who are not from Ireland)
